I've decided to take an interest in Israel. I feel that I should know more about Israel than I do currently. I took an interest in Israel once before - back in the summer of 2000 whilst living in a flea infested hostle in Auckland, New Zealand - only I've since forgotten what I learnt. I seem to remember that it's all our fault. The British, I mean. Sounds about right.
So anyway, I'm spending my morning browsing the net for articles on the Gaza Strip and the intifada. Oh, and I've just installed Firefox so browsing for articles about unrest in the middle east is now a far more colouful experience that it might otherwise have been.
Of course, me and my fella were up 'til four-thirty this morning drinking wine so there's no frigging chance that I'm actually going to remember anything I learn today. Still, it keeps me busy. I mean, it's not like I've actually got any work to do.
I've got a cold sore. Actually, I've got three cold sores. I hate cold sores. I'm a NO SNOG zone for the next week or so.
I've had quite a good weekend, despite the herpes. Friday night we went to the Sleepeezee farewell do. We are skint so we smuggled in a litre bottle of vodka. I don't really remember the last hour or so but I'm sure I had a good time. You just know sometimes, don't you.
Woke up Saturday morning somewhere between the last few minutes of intoxication and the dawning of a hangover. Paul was in pretty much the same state so we substituted our morning cups of tea for 2 large glasses of vino blanc. The rest of the day's a bit of a haze.
Felt like crap on Sunday. Woke up with the shakes so downed 3 cups of very sweet tea and watched Hollyoaks. I hate Hollyoaks, by the way. It's embarrassingly bad and all the characters are complete and utter cunts. Still, it's better than watching the God slot. Just. We started on the wine again at midday or there abouts and watched The Big Chill. I don't really like those films where a bunch of 30 something tossers sit round and reflect on the meaning of life but Glenn Close's hair kept me amused. Paul decided that his favourite Glenn Close film is Fatal Attraction but I'd have to go with Dangerous Liaisons which, despite staring John Malkovich, is still one of the greatest films of the eighties. Hmmmm..... Glenn Close played the Marquise Isabelle de Merteuil in Stephen Frears'1988 version and Meg Tilly was Madame Marie de Tourval in Milos Forman's 1989 take on the same material. And of course they both star in The Big Chill. There you go. Oh, and Paul and I both prefer Jennifer over Meg.
After The Big Chill we watched Midnight Express. Brad Davis was, like, 38 years old when he starred in this movie. Billy Hayes was 22 at the time of his arrest.
Once the movie had finished, we had sex. Quite good sex actually. After 20 years of practise, it seems that I'm getting quite good at it. Yay for me!
So now I'm sat at work, fingering my scabby lips and considering going across the road for a pint. It's payday so a lunch time pint is most definately in order.
Sod it! A pint it is.

About the Big Chill, I like Lawrence Kasdan a lot, and that movie is one of my fave, don´t ever dare criticise it :p
I see you had a quite oholic weekend, I was good and just had a cosmopolitan and some champagne though, I am so sensible...I am jealous about the sex think though, you shouldn´t talk about it in front of the unhappy people that lack of it :p
I hope you enjoyed the pint

Dangerous Liaisons is a permanent fixture on my Top Ten films list. Because of staring John Malkovich.
